Incentive

GoodPriv@cy®:2026 is a registered warranty mark pursuant to Art. 21 of the Federal Act of August 28, 1992, on the Protection of Trademarks and Indications of Origin (MSchG). It is awarded for exemplary implementation of data protection and the associated information security. The primary objective of GoodPriv@cy®:2026 is to strengthen public confidence in the compliance with data protection (and thus the protection of personal privacy) by users of the data protection seal. The new version, GoodPriv@cy®:2026, updates the existing label. The revision's objective was to ensure compatibility with the new versions of ISO standards (Harmonized Structure) as well as with the requirements of the data protection laws relevant to our customers (DSG, EU General Data Protection Regulation, etc.) Today, the responsible handling of artificial intelligence (AI) is also among the relevant requirements. The requirements for modern data protection management systems are being expanded accordingly (see also the EU AI Act: European Union Regulation on Artificial Intelligence). For existing customers, a transition period of up to 3 years has been set for the switch to the new GoodPriv@cy®:2026 (end of March 2029).

Outcome

A functioning data protection management system serves as a prerequisite for the secure handling of personal data and for the effective compliance with data protection- and contractual requirements, including appropriate information security - even when using artificial intelligence. The certificate serves to promote image and trust among partners, consumers, authorities and public bodies.

Target groups

The GoodPriv@cy®:2026 data protection quality seal may be obtained by any organisation (companies, institutions, and authorities) that processes personal data in accordance with data protection legislation.

Validity

3 years – to support the continuous development, a surveillance audit takes place annually and a recertification audit after 3 years.

The SQS GoodPriv@cy®:2026 certificate is internationally recognised.

Combinations

GoodPriv@cy®:2026 can be combined with ISO 9001 (quality management), ISO/IEC 27001 (information security management) and VDSZ (data protection management).
