FAMI-QS Issue 6

Quality- and Safety Management System for Specialty Feed Ingredients

Incentive

The FAMI-QS Code is a worldwide applicable Standard ensuring feed safety by minimizing unsafe practices and the risk of hazardous ingredients entering the food chain. The standard covers the production and trade of specialty feed ingredients.
Parts of the standard are: Process documents to support the organization in the implementation of the HACCP plan, dedicated chapters for Good Manufacturing Practices according to ISO/TS 20003, crisis management procedure and a well-founded management of supplier to guarantee the supply chain.
Since 2018, the Code of Practice contains a mandatory Feed Fraud Prevention and Defence Module applicable for both production and trade. With this module the operators implement a system to effectively mitigate the risk of feed fraud and terrorism. The certification system is described in the Rules for Operators and Rules for Certification Bodies running side by side with the FAMI-QS Code of Practice Version 6.0.

Outcome
