(ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 looses its validity per September 29, 2021 and will be replaced by ISO/IEC 20000-1:2018.)

Incentive

ISO/IEC 20000-1 leads to increased efficiency in service management and to the adoption of the ITIL approach to good practice.

Outcome

The system offers forward-thinking ITIL-based practice, optimised support of business processes through an integrated approach to IT service management (internal and outsourced), and an extension of ISO 9001 bearing specific reference to IT. It also helps to put the systems in place for ITIL-based best practice.

Target groups

Internal and external IT service providers.

Validity

3 years - there is an annual audit to ensure that standards are being maintained and a recertification audit after 3 years.

Recognition

The SQS certificate of conformity with ISO/IEC 20000-1 has international validity and is recognised worldwide through the IQNet partnership.

Combinations

ISO/IEC 20000-1 can be combined with ISO 9001 (quality management), ISO 14001 (environmental management), ISO/IEC 27001 (information security management) and GoodPriv@cy® (data protection).
