Quality in the food industry

SQS certifies GFSI accepted standards, international standards and organic and label products in the food industry.

The production, storage, transportation and sale of food require the highest standards of all stakeholders. To guarantee food safety in the interest of consumers and to market products worldwide, we support our partners with international standards and GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) accepted standards. With the appropriate certification by SQS specialists, food industry businesses earn the confidence of investors, partners, regulators, customers and end consumers.

Food safety through self-commitment

Those seeking a comprehensive management system focus on the requirements of ISO 9001. With the certification of an international standard (ISO 22000) or GFSI standards (IFS Food and FSSC 22000), businesses can demonstrate legal and safety-conscious behaviour in all business processes, based on personal initiative and commitment. The standards include all the statutory and regulatory requirements that are applicable in the EU area, and in some cases go beyond these. Certification is a prerequisite for worldwide approval.

Interesting synergies are created for businesses in terms of occupational health and safety, as well as the environment (OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 and ISO 14001). Thanks to its cross-industry expertise, SQS is the ideal partner for this.

Organic and label products with certificates

Organic is on the move! In recent years, numerous recognised organic and quality labels for businesses, associations and government agencies have come into being in Switzerland and internationally. Thanks to the partnership between SQS and bio.inspecta, our customers benefit from services from a single source. Organic and label products are certified by bio.inspecta, while SQS focuses on the assessment and certification of the ISO and food safety standards. The combination saves our customers money on annual auditing time and costs.
